Clog Me

The last few months, I find myself drawn to clogs.  Maybe it's the clomping noise they make when I stomp around in them; maybe it's the powerful height they bring me too; or maybe it's the comfort and simplicity of their style.  Whatever it is, my next shoe purchase will be a clog.  I'm leaning toward a buckle clog with socks (with socks is So cute right now) or a simple slide.

Lauren Moffett kind of day

This crisp Fall day, is a Lauren Moffatt day.  I want to feel the playfulness and style that the Fall 2010 Lauren Moffatt line brings.  Secretly, I'm thinking of the Spring 2011 line complete with sunglasses, but reality brings me back to fun designs accented with ankle socks, knit hats and fingerless gloves.

What does your day feel like?

Legs Have It

Short, black, leather dresses with fabulous ankle or thigh high boots complimented with big bangles or arm cuffs get me excited for cooler nights with hubby. Add some fun orange sparkle for extra, flirty eyes.

Hands Down, Pink Is In (my closet)

The more I play with looks this month, the more I can't get away from grey and Pink. Pink is not a color that currently occupies my closet, but I'll tell you it's something I plan to add... as soon as I can find the right pieces.

Here is a fabulous, playful, sassy, chic outfit from "Perennial Mom" on ShopStyle. Check out her other looks as this mamma has fabulous style. BTW, the pink dress reminds me of Marc Jacobs Freudian slip from the 80's. I loved it then and love this look now.

Thoughts of Winter

Grey #Seattle days like today, remind me of strong leather accessories for Fall and Winter #Fashion.

On my next outing, I'll be looking for some strong boots in a dark, weathered leather. Same with jackets, something fit so you can see I'm a girl, but not above my waist; just at my waist is perfect (unless it's a fabulous leather trench =)

While I'm out, I'll also keep an eye out for some thick, leather cuffs. Black and White with silver accents works for me. I hate to say it, but something with a little fringe to add a little swish to my wave, would be pretty cool.

Happy Hunting!

Goddess dress

As soon as I saw this grey, goddess dress, I fell in LOVE!!

I love how simple the design is, but it's still unique and sexy. It slides from Summer time fling with strappy or wrap heels to Winter with thigh high leather boots (yes, again this Winter) and a fabulous black leather jacket.

This dress makes me want hit the treadmill for some focused body trimming exercise. Seriously, love the dress!

We're Moving On Up...

Arm Cuffs, Armlets or Baju Bandh (Indian armlets), it doesn't matter what you call them, you have to admit this trend is sexy and unexpected (when is the last time you wore an armlet and saw other girls wearing the same thing?). You can find designs from $13 to $200+ so this trend works for every budget. You can even stretch your favorite cuff and move it up your arm.

Either way, don't let this trend pass you by. Find the armlet that fits your style and have some fun (buy one for your girlfriend too). (pictures from Etsy or Amazon.com)

Milly On My Mind

With Spring here and my need for color, I am really loving the Milly line. It's fun, sexy, girlie and there is something awesome about the off-the-shoulder look mixed with sunshine.

Milly by Michelle Smith... I Love it!

Spring Pastels

Looking through my closet I see a lot of black, off black and dark black. I decided to go shopping and found I was gravitating toward Grey and White. Good start to my added Spring color, but what I'm really in the mood for are pastels. So far, all I can find on the Eastside are bright yellow, pink and beige designs which are not exactly the hues that I'm looking for.

Searching for my pastel fix, I signed into ShopStyle and found this amazing lilac dress. I can't read the designer or the description, but past the language barrier, I can tell that I like it. Add a funky bag, fabulous wedges and some cute accessories and I'm ready to walk through Spring showers.

Bring it, Spring 2010.

I Have Bangleitis and There Is No Cure

May name is Charl and I have bangleitis.
It's been 20 years since my last obsession with bangles and dancing to pop songs, jingling all the way...

Anyone else suffering from bangle-itis? I just can't get enough of them. So many different styles and they go with almost everything (not sure about bathing suits yet).

Meditating on Stella McCartney Dress

I found this FABULOUS Stella McCartney dress on ShopStyle.com and can't get it out of my mind. The way it flows, the way it dances around your thighs, the way it winks at me... it's a total tease! Of course, it's $2,000 and I know there is no way in hell I could go out and purchase it (not unless I move out and refused to support my family). So, I thought I would play the visualization game. I added the dress to a full date night look and am posting it here as my meditation focal point for the next few days (breathe).

On another note:

Why is fashion so calming for us? Why, after a super stressful day, can we get lost walking through stores, touching fabric, looking at lines and dreaming? It's pure therapy and always seems to calm me down.

I found it interesting when I took my daughter shopping this past weekend, that after a few minutes in the store she said "I was totally stressed before coming into the store, and now I'm excited and energized to try things on". Poor thing, she's caught the illness and there is no cure.

Oh well, it could be worse. Back to meditating on this fabulous dress...

Simple Sexy Date Night

I was looking through new styles on ShopStyle and found this amazing layered skirt on TopShop. Typically I like to keep my style effortless as I don't have time to rethink an outfit, so I found a soft, feminie Helmut Lang draped silk blouse (check out the super sexy back) and toped it off with Christian Louboutin glitter strap sandals and a simple clip clutch for the full look. Now all I need is a free date night (No Kids).

What's your favorite date night look?

Wedge Fever

This Spring, Wedges are a main foot staple to show off your fabulous Winter legs. Nice thing about this trend is you can find wedges that work for every budget (well, except for Free, unless you have a good exchange group).

Here are some hot styles to get you thinking about your perfect Spring Foot Candy.

Spring Fashion Flashback 1980's

Spring 2010's hot items are flashbacks from the 1980's.

Remember Candies Wedges, Madonna's multi-bangled arms and baggy "can't touch this" pants? Well, they're back and they are hotter than your High School Boyfriend (back then, not now). Simple, effortless dressing for your Spring wardrobe makeover.

I Wanna Be Your Dog

I'm thinking something fun (& still sexy) for those dark, loud, thumping, jumping night clubs. I'm feeling the old '70's/'80's punk vibe. Yes, those are two cuffs and Yes, you need to wear both. Fun Fun, Bad Grrl

Shhh, short jumpers not so bad...

I roll my eyes when I hear "jumper". This past month I tried one one and guess what, it looked SO hawt! Seriously cute, black strapless. If you haven't tried one on, do so. You probably won't regret it. Well, until you have to pee and you have to get naked and balance the jumper with your legs so it doesn' hit the floor and... you get the picture ;)
